The town lies on a spur dominating the valley of the river Neto, at about 326 meters above sea level. His Castle overlooks the landscape which ranges from the mountains of the Sila to the Ionian Sea. The district “Greece”, in the east zone of the town, is still untouched by urbanistic changes and it’s a proof of the Byzantine domination. Close to this district it’s the Baptistery, reachable from the Cathedral, the oldest Byzantine monument of Calabria.
